LANDSTADT BESTAND — future campus at the railway station
Pegnitz was selected in 2025 as one of 11 Bavarian municipalities. The focus is the area between Badstraße and the railway line: demolition of the K+P/PEP buildings, the planned HföD site and railway-station conversion with an underpass. Next citizen workshop: 07.07.2026, 18:30, Wiesweiherhalle.

The town has published a final report on municipal heat planning. It explicitly states that the plan shows one possible target scenario, guarantees no implementation and is not a legally binding expansion plan.

Pegnitz lists the fully developed Pegnitz/West commercial area by the A9 with around 200.000 m² immediately available for construction, plus about 120 retail businesses with 34.000 m² of sales space in the town-centre area.
